Visa acts as a middleman between merchants and banks, and it will be up to banks to decide whether they will allow sales at gun stores to happen on their issued cards.

I don't poo poo the idea of a currency the government can't manipulate. I am skeptical of implementations, and I am wary of getting involved in things where there's a lot of Tulipmania misplaced enthusiasm.

The bill of rights describes rights that the government cannot restrict. Doesn't stop corporations. They've been using corporations to do their dirty work for a long while.

In a free market, if corp A wanted to give up business to virtue signal, corp B would be right there to take their place. That that doesn't happen indicates to you something else is going on.

It's "weird" how corps never decide to do anything individually any more. Trump doesn't get banned from just Facebook. Just Coke doesn't decide to support BLM over the police. Just one bank doesn't ban Gab.

So one cannot use a credit card at a bank to get the needed cash (say $1000), or use a cash machine to get it in increments ....over say a couple weeks? I don't fool with credit cards so I wouldn't know, but it seems fishy to me.
