I had most of those exact things. It was weird seeing my old record player again

I also had a fuckton of tapes. One day I just got sick of them, collected them all up in garbage bags and put them on the curb. There were no niggers in my neighborhood but still, somefuckinghow, they appeared like magic and started rooting through my garbage.

I switched from tapes to minidisks. Then I had to throw out all my minidiscs...

I seriously had everything in that video other than the vhs rewinder (I had a different one). I don't really miss any of them but it's cool seeing them.

My dad had this old reel to reel he brought back from Vietnam. He only ever used it once or twice. Way too clunky.

Back in the mid-90s I was arbitrarily made the modem "expert." My cubicle had two 800 lines, four local lines, and many computers with a ton of modems in it. Even though I try to stay organized normally, my cubicle looked like a disaster of shit computer equipment with wires everywhere. I developed my start-up company's initial telephony communication module (host and client). It was not very good since this was my first professional job out of college.

I was waiting for that too. But some might say that was the beginning of the end.

What got me was the VHS being inserted into the VCR. I can feel the way it started to feed after you'd pushed it in just far enough - and the sounds of rewinding a tape. Holy shit, the notices on rented tapes about rewind fees. In absolute terms this wasn't that long ago, just a few decades. But dammit it feels like a different life. What's the caption in that meme that floats around now and again? Something, something, the world you grew up in no longer exists.

Our kids exclusively watch old vhs tapes. They only cost 25 cents at the thrift store and you don't have to worry about black trannies in the commercials.

I still have some cassettes and vhs tapes in my closet even though I don't have a tape player or vcr. I did get a record player a couple of years ago after not having one for years and listened to an album yesterday. I want to go back!
