Driving free of music and conversation has a similar effect on my mind to a shower. I stay physically engaged so my mind can wander all over. Avoiding the (((news))) and (((adverts))) are just a bonus. Instrumentals are cool when used situationally.

I almost exclusively listen to classical in while driving. It makes me feel less murdery about the other retards on the road. I tried the silence method too, but I end up overthinking how God damn selfish the person who just cut me off is. At least with classical I'm thinking about where the music came from.

Lately I like a cappella stuff: King's College Choir for classical, "The Longest Johns" for sea shanties. But A cappella sung in foreign tongues fits the bill for this conversation.

I had to stop when it was nothing but COVID bullshit. Even ads for businesses talking about COVID more then their offers. Then the vaccine commercials...

Sure am glad I figured out people were stupid when I was a little kid and just stop processing what they say. I don't really think the normies have a defense for that kind of thought bombardment. It just works on them and they can't really stop it because they were not ever expecting to pay attention for it.

If you have kids make them study Propaganda. If they know what it is it won't work on them.

I drive about once a month without any music or anything just to listen to the car, make sure nothing new crops up between regular maintenance.

One thing I have found to be useful however, is listening to music without a singer actually helps me to concentrate when studying or doing something requiring my focus like programming or math. Instrumentals, YT study music, classical music, etc.

When my JVC Kaboom box died about 15 years ago, I never got another one. AM & FM was sonic wastelands back then, and I doubt things are any better today. Crappy commercials interspersed with just as crappy music...and even worse talk shows.
