"call Putin to say thanks"

Was a Costco getting gas this weekend. Turned to the guy next to me and complained about the price. He angrily said:

"call Putin t say thanks".

I replied, "what the hell does Putin have to do with it?" He just blankly stared at me. So I raised my fists in the air and shouted "Lets Go Brandon!". A couple people chuckled, but most just went about their business of brain-dead consuming and spending without thought.

To think that our ancestors fought a war over a tax on tea, and now most people can't get their noses out of the phone long enough to wave goodbye to our country.

Brandon doesn't even necessarily have much to do with it either. Our oil refineries are at 97% capacity with none being built since the 1990s. The EPA and federal government have been waging war on inexpensive energy for decades.

Raising output would decrease oil prices by adding more to the international market yes but not much can increase our supply of fuel at this point.

Yep, bc the Federal Govt shut down the Oil Industries ability to provide that increase at the ground with new infrastructure and have throttled the existing supply with permit denials.

it takes over a year for a new well to come online. That kind of stuff doesn't happen over night. If you think prices are bad now just wait. It's going to be really bad in 5 years when decline rates kick in. Biden is just the idiot taking the heat. US energy/oil production was built up and the US became completely energy/ fossil fuel self sufficient during 2016-2020 and were looking to begin selling/ providing on the open market to Europe.
Biden shut that all down on his first day.
The permits denied for exploration and opening new well heads would have come on line for production capability in 2021, and more would have been able to begin operating 2022 and onwards etc etc.
In 2016 America had the worlds largest oil reserves (larger than Saudi Arabia, Russia and Venezuela). Now they are suffering a shortage and have to purchase internationally. Go figure.
I agree that biden is just a sock puppet to take the blame.
