The Russian navy is just as much of a joke and the Chinks build garbage and have absolutely zero experience in battle. Both of them together would be an even match for the US. The US military budget does buy an advantage when it comes to hardware. Only new tactics upset the status quo. Drones, especially submersible drones, would be the game changer. The Chinks would lose their navy in a conventional engagement, but they don't want that. They expect to sucker the US into fighting in the South China Sea, which is the only way they would win decisively.

If we were ever fighting China and Russia, we would be the bad guys. The only reasons Israel hasn't completely dominated the middle east is because of China/Russia. They're the only reason Iran has a nuclear program, etc.

A carrier is a moving target without a multitude of support ships whose sole purpose is to supply it and protect it. Satellite targeting systems renders those defensive ships capabilities moot. There is a reason that the navy is shrinking. Ships are very vulnerable to today's weapons. Just like war is constantly evolving, and tanks are now vulnerable, the idea of the great white fleet is dead. The Chinese are very late to the table. Comments in this thread mention Taiwan and Japan , this ship would not survive 15 minutes. The only possible purpose would be the protection of Chinese's African interests.

The US has 11 carriers last I checked. The Chinks will use drone swarms and they will be effective. I'm not sure why they're building any carriers except to fuck with Taiwan and Japan. Their opponents don't have hypersonic capability yet.

Eh, they've been able to operate their other shitty rafts for decades without them sinking. The US and Russia may have a worse track record in that regard. Though I suppose no one would ever hear about the Chinks losing a submarine like the Russians.
