My Norton AV is blocking links from voat.xyz and warning it's a dangerous site. Anybody else has their AV blocking their site?

How else can one play cs:go on a phone tethered internet connection. I tried for hours to get both MX and Ubuntu to function with my phone internet but the system can't properly work with the proxy used by my tethering app. Steam and cli cant use the internet but browsers with configured proxy can. Anyways fuck u nigger

Norton is worthless. Cost only. I have no 'anti virus' since years. Not a single problem.

Please do acid and uninstall your av program.

If Norton actually protected you from memetic viruses it'd also block Reddit and Twitter and all the other social media sites.

"My Norton VIRUS" FIFY

[ - ] aer9ERub 0 points 3 yearsJun 13, 2022 10:24:48 ago (+0/-0)

Good. Maybe this is the impetus you may need to get the F off of Tyrant Tech platforms and away from fed-op "security software".

Between Norton and the platforms its running on they are likley capturing everything you do 24/7 for storage in the UT data center.

Why in the fuck are wankers using Nortons AV in 2022

1st Remove that overpriced bloat POS

2nd Bitch slap yourself for using that crud

3rd repeat after me - I will stop being a shit Cunt

---

My recommendations :-

Enter in DNS Watch DNS
Remove google/apple/amazon/microsoft DNS

Replace Firefox with LibreWolf
Replace Chrome with Ungoogled Chromium

Install Noscript
Install Ublock origin
Disable 3rd party coolies

If Windows - Install Malwares AntiBytes (free/freeware)
If Windows - Install calmAV (opensource)

If Windows - Defrag your HDD (Not SSD/M2)

Replace MS office with Libre Office

If Windows - Replace MS media player with VLC or MPC-HC

Anyone that is red pilled, JQ pilled, FE pilled or Based Nationalist
should seriously consider migrating from Windows 7/8/10/11 to Linux

The best based Distro currently is
Dev1 - https://www.devuan.org/os/community

Don't expect to have Power Grid, Internet or Updates after 2030-2035
We will need Linux, Offline Update Files and an OS that doesnt need
updates every fucking hour as the Smart Surveillance Social Credit Score SHTF rolls out

WatchGuard DNSWatch is a Cloud-based...

NO.

Run your own DNS. It's not hard, and the software will run on a potato.

I have Pi-Hole setup to do my own DNS filtering with a local blocklist. If the domain isn't in the blocklist, the query gets handed over to Unbound. If it's not in Unbound's cache, then the answer is taken directly from a root server, not anyone else's service.

And since that same device is also acting as my DHCP server, EVERY device on my network is automatically configured to use my local DNS setup.

(Before you say anything, yes, I have Unbound configured to only respond to queries from localhost (Pi-Hole), and Pi-Hole will only respond to queries on the local subnet).

If we don't have a power grid or Internet then I don't think we will need Linux or any other OS....

Norton AntiVirus is an anti-virus or anti-malware software product [Library Service]

TLOL is a dangerous site. The people are dangerous.

[ - ] I_am_baal 2 points 3 yearsJun 13, 2022 03:57:12 ago (+2/-0)

We're dangerously based. Of course Norton is going to block this website.

[ - ] dulcima 2 points 3 yearsJun 13, 2022 07:44:12 ago (+2/-0)

Ok, I'm going to fess up and say I'm a Norton user as well - and, moreover, an Aussie. After Tarrant did his thing a number of us had old voat blocked by our ISPs.

As of today I can access Voat, so dunno what it is. Might be something else that is an issue.

[ - ] UncleDoug 2 points 3 yearsJun 13, 2022 08:03:33 ago (+2/-0)

God damn duclima, delete that bloat. If you must install an anti-virus use Bitdefender. Better still use a combination of anti-malware like Malwarebytes or similar that stop the infection as opposed to managing the infection.

Prevention is better than cure.
Or just dont click on dodgy curry links in hotmail and learn how to use torrents properly and manage port forwarding.

[ - ] dulcima 4 points 3 yearsJun 13, 2022 08:24:51 ago (+4/-0)

I feel very embarrassed. But I at least know not to click on weird links.

[ - ] anthonylancer 1 point 3 yearsJun 13, 2022 08:48:33 ago (+1/-0)

Uninstall man we're not fucking with you.

[ - ] VicariousJambi 2 points 3 yearsJun 13, 2022 08:10:44 ago (+2/-0)

my work blocked voat.xyz but not talk.lol, try talk.lol instead

[ - ] Conspirologist [op] 1 point 3 yearsJun 13, 2022 08:41:56 ago (+1/-0)

Are you saying voat.xyz and talk.lol is the same site?

[ - ] VicariousJambi 2 points 3 yearsJun 13, 2022 09:22:13 ago (+2/-0)

yes

[ - ] yesiknow 4 points 3 yearsJun 13, 2022 02:57:57 ago (+4/-0)

How do politicians feel being third rate wind up puppets of global corporations?

What tragedy in life saw you end up with norton in your device?

[ - ] Conspirologist [op] 2 points 3 yearsJun 13, 2022 03:20:26 ago (+2/-0)

I always used Norton since the beginning. They have great real time customer service.

[ - ] chrimony 0 points 3 yearsJun 13, 2022 08:31:04 ago (+0/-0)

Then contact customer service and ask them to justify why it's listed as dangerous. If they can't answer with solid evidence, then stop using them. Microsoft has free AV built into their OS.

[ - ] rage 1 point 3 yearsJun 13, 2022 09:55:39 ago (+1/-0)

You're having a conversation with an account that exists almost exclusively to A-B test for ABC Media.

[ - ] drhitler 7 points 3 yearsJun 13, 2022 05:56:58 ago (+7/-0)

thats great, anyone who uses norton shouldn't be on this site anyway.

[ - ] Master_Foo 9 points 3 yearsJun 13, 2022 04:15:02 ago (+9/-0)

Who the fuck uses anti-virus?
Oh, yeah, you normies can never learn your lesson and still use Windows.

[ - ] anthonylancer 2 points 3 yearsJun 13, 2022 08:46:35 ago (+2/-0)

I have both on this machine. You can use windows perfectly fine with no av.

[ - ] big_fat_dangus 14 points 3 yearsJun 13, 2022 05:24:04 ago (+14/-0)

Having Norton on your PC is almost worse than having a virus. That's been the case since like 2007.

[ - ] UncleDoug 6 points 3 yearsJun 13, 2022 08:00:49 ago (+6/-0)

1997.

It creates problems and protects your system like a glass door that got kicked in by meth heads.

[ - ] RobertJHarsh 3 points 3 yearsJun 13, 2022 10:17:15 ago (+3/-0)

Norton is kinda garbage. You're better off with M$ Defender.

[ - ] Swej_Ehtsag 0 points 3 yearsJun 13, 2022 11:56:26 ago (+0/-0)

Malware slows down your system and has annoying pop-ups... wait, I just described Norton.

If you are going to use Windows, create an Administrator account with the password, "InstallVirusNow". Then create a non-administrator account and only use that. Every time your machine wants to modify something, you will have to type in the Administrator password.

If you do get malware, it almost always hides in the same places. The first place to look is the all users startup folder, "%programdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp" and the user startup folder, "%appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup". Then open up regedit and do a search (key only) in the Local_Machine and Current_User sections for "RunOnce" where "Run" appears directly above it. Check both run and runonce folders. The last place to check is Task Scheduler. Take screenshots of all these places after a fresh setup or after whenever you install new software. If you come across questionable software, check these folders after you install the software. If you come across something you don't recognize, do a web search for it, there are lots of websites that will tell you what something is. If it doesn't come up in any search, it could be malware.

Alternatively, stop using windows.
