Cannonically the show has to end with Peter Capaldi's Doctor since the Time Lords only get 13 lives. Unfortunately thats the same season they break that rule with the 14th interation if The Master. But yeah the show absolutely peaked with Eccleston and Tennant

I stopped watching that show when the crusty old scottish guy took over. Not David Tennant. The other guy. I saw a couple episodes with the female doctor and it was horrendously awkward.
