The missus insists Bovril is far superior.

The wife fought for Napoleon III? That's hardcore!

In 1870, in the Franco-Prussian War, Napoleon III ordered one million cans of beef to feed his troops.[5] The task of providing this went to John Lawson Johnston, a Scottish butcher living in Canada.[5] Large quantities of beef were available across the British Dominions and South America, but transport and storage were problematic. Therefore, Johnston created a product known as 'Johnston's Fluid Beef', later called Bovril, to meet Napoleon's needs.[6] By 1888, over 3,000 UK public houses, grocers and dispensing chemists were selling Bovril. In 1889, Bovril Ltd was formed to develop Johnston's business further.<

Bovril is beefstock not marmite.

That's Australian Army issue Vegemite. It came/used to come with the Australian MRE equivalent. When I was in the Army we would trade stuff for the diggers MRE's.

its the greatest thing that ever came from waste water from beer production that ever got slapped between bread with cheese and stuck under the griller my friend.

half a teaspoon of it in the bottom of a jug of brown gravy is pretty damn good too...

I'd try it, fuck if it comes from beer I probably would like it.

Add lots of fat and salt.
Egg, cheese and vegemite is a brilliant combo.

This reminds me when I met a man in Brussels. He was six foot four and full of muscle. I asked him if he spoke my language. He just smiled and gave me this on a sandwich.

You can find it (or Marmite) at most grocery stores, it's awesome, try it.
