Had a huge argument in college over this exact incident. When the teacher looked up the date herself she just said "ok" and continued with the curriculum. Nothing was told to the class she had made a mistake.

You should've demanded an apology from her before the class. Or gone the more sneaky route of getting getting students to talk among themselves over how she had just been proven wrong on an important topic and just dismissed it like it was insignificant, as well as how this undermines the credibility of the lessons taught in her entire class, are the students paying just to hear made up nonsense from her?
