I upgraded a pc in my lab to win 10 from win 7 recently. I have a specific piece of software(called VUE extreme)I need to run that only seems to run on win.
I just went to log in to said machine and noticed a odd bit of small text right in the middle of the lock screen. some kind of text ad....
and I fucking quote:
Would you like to know more on how you can fight racial injustice and make a more equitable world?" and then a small seach icon.
Right in the fooking middle of the lock screen!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on a 80% air gapped production machine!!!!!!!!!!!!
I could not believe it. I am so fed up with this shit. Downloading mint right now and am converting everything I can.
Fucvk it. I don't care if it takes a fucking year to learn all the new software.
take pic with your phone. I just installed win11 and I don't see that crap yet. I used the Pro N edition as the N means less junk gets installed by default
I tend to run old equipment. Older i7 procs.... how's that win 11 working for you prefmon wise? Win 7 was a real clean kernal. Win 10... not so much...
I run animation renderfarms and buy up old dell I7's for super cheap to run it all on.
Can win 11 even run on the old stuff due to the TMP stuff?
It may be sad, but plenty more Black people have died due to racial injustice. Plus, white supremacy led to Black inequality in the first place, so her downfall really came as a result of white people's actions.
By "anyone" do you mean anyone without a rudimentary knowledge of command line entry? Probably not, but there are enough instructions that it can be successful for the inexperienced. Mint is easier than Windows 3.11
In your desktop search box, type "lock screen" and click on the first result to bring up lock screen settings. Look for "get fun facts, tips and more from Windows and Cortana." Turn that faggot shit off.
Beware, though, MS will turn that setting back on for you periodically. :-P
I only have one W10 device in my server closet, running a video capture card that can't do linux. It's firewalled off from any outside communications and can only talk to the internal web server. Otherwise updates threaten to disrupt the setup, never mind stupid woke messages.
Just like OP, I have production machines that require M$, but I won't tolerate any of M$ bullshit fag ads. They stick them in the start menu, lock screen, temperature, popups, calendars, browsers, as you log in, and the list goes on. I have over 200 registry edits I process on every machine every time a user logs in and I'd say almost half of them are to remove all micropenisofts shoving their agenda down your throat.
gotta find all the application software. I could give a shit about running the OS. I need to actually DO stuff with the computer to make monies and stuff...
Photoshop, blender, unity... all seem to be native or have equivalents for the various flavors of eunuchs Os's it looks like...
Edit: Ohhhhhhhh the wine... I gotcha, I gotcha.... I see where ya are going with this....

Holy cow ... FoxPro. Haven't use that since the 90s. That's a blast from the past. Good thing word processor text files in WordPerfect, WordStar, and AmiPro can be opened in numerous other word processing programs. LibreOffice is very good for that. Otherwise, so much of my old stuff would have been lost.
There's also at least one unofficial Windows10 version that comes de-spooked, though you might lose some functionality with it. If you have some time there is usually a workaround for linux compatibility, but those can be a pain in the ass if you aren't ready to chew through them. Either way, fuck winblows forever.
I did Manjaro, was easier to transition than I thought. I'm actually dual boot, have to load up Windoze (still 7) mybe once a year for something that simply doesn't have a linux counterpart. But beyond that, glad I made the change... took a long damn time for there to be a distro I could tolerate (loaded my first linux in about 1997~8).
Anyway, I've tried Mint in the past, like Manjaro way more.
Glad to hear it! Linux is mostly fire and forget, so once you spend the time for the setup, you won't need to touch it again.
....This is with the sole exception of e.g. Ubuntu, and it's derivatives, like Linux Mint. The jews have been making inroads on Linux for a while, as they tookover the master distribution of the Ubuntu family, Debian, in a coup to force the adoption of systemd (the non-systemd variant is Devuan), as well 2 other notable inroads. None of this matters to you yet, so long as you do a couple key things: when you do your mint install:
1. Create a separate 'home' partition, and preferably a separate 'boot' partition (this will make dealing with a dual boot of Windows easier as Windows will actually fuck with the boot files of your computer without warning. The reason for the separate home partition is to allow you to leave Linux Mint in the future with no headaches, as well as making it easy to basically copy/paste all of the files that are actually yours without having any system files mixed in.
2. Boot partitions only need a handful of gigs, as they only store efi files and some other specific startup stuff (e.g. kernels, and grub, which is the Linux preloader and recovery environment), none of which is very big.
3. The root partition, if you separate the home partition, will only store system stuff. Mint needs like 20 gigs just for the install, and every piece of software you install will take this space up. Cinnamon (the prettiest of the desktops) takes another 3ish, and WINE (which lets you run Windows programs) is like 1.5 gigs by itself, and has tons of extensions for specific use cases that, if installed, will run another 1.5ish gigs. I usually budget 64 gigs for this partition.
4. DO NOT ENCRYPT THE HOME PARTITION. If you want encryption, you should use LUKS, which is the most secure full disk encryption iirc. Encrypting only this partition will cause you headaches when you feel confident enough in Linux to leave Mint, which is sort of like our sandbox for new users leaving Windows.
And don't forget that there are a number of us here - if it isn't super critical timewise (where other forums might be better), you can ask questions and get really good responses here.
If you haven't yet installed linux by this year, you will never make it being tech literate. People using winblows in this year are already too addicted to bill gates micro soft penis.
