Driving defensively? They rolled through a stop sign, what does defensive driving have to do with any of that?

More like, pay attention and don’t be a retard.

come to a full stop at the stop sign, look to see the intersection is clear. to me that is absolutely part of driving defensively.

That's just normal driving. How far have things slid in the last few decades where normal driving taught in normal school would be considered defensive driving now?

normal driving IS defensive driving. that is supposed to be the NORM.

I guess, I just call that not being an idiot. Not your fault I use the wrong terminology.

Sucks they died but I’d never trust a teen girl to operate machinery

Women shouldn't drive until they're mothers. At that point protective instincts take over and make them better drivers than most men. And then once soccer starts they should once again lose their license.

As someone who patrolled the roads for many years you need to drive as if everyone is out to kill you. You wont be disappointed, it even happens in a patrol car.

Umm... maybe I'm too old, but "Defensive" driving is the next step Beyond just following the rules of the road (as in, stopping Behind the line at stop signs). Decades as a motorcyclist, and I'd define "defensive" driving as watching head movements of vehicles around you, easy to tell when someone's looking down at their phone (80% of all drivers, Easily) or about to change lanes without signalling. Do it enough and you can tell when someone's going to cut you off before they even pass you, just by how they're driving when you see them in your mirror.

the defensive part is then slowing down and allowing that person to do that dumb thing without taking you out. And from a motorcycle perspective, most new riders think power/more speed is the "answer" to getting out of danger... only true when slowing/at stops and that idiot behind is still at speed and looking at their phone. Every other time, it's brakes... 99% of all accident avoidance I've encountered in my ~1 million miles traveled, were by use of brakes, either alone or in conjunction with turning.

Rolling a stop sign with a truck coming? That's just ignorance... what you'd expect from a teenager with all of 2~3 years of local driving experience. Add in the distraction of 5 others in the car and it's really no wonder. I thought most states had laws on the books that you could only have 1 passenger unless it was direct family? Ahhh... secondary enforcement (as good as no law at all).

Their 2015 Chevy Sonic was a modern garbage car with all the globohomo "safety" features, none of which did jack shit to save those girls. They would have been safer in an old Buick Park Avenue than that tin can. Can even find them with airbags if you're dead set on having something blow up in your face during a crash.

Chevy Spark, even smaller than a Sonic. Drove an electric one for my company. Actually enjoyed it. But, never felt safe and would never let anyone ride in back. Measured 6 inches between rear passenger head and rear hatch. I saw a biohazard labeled Spark at wreckers with brain matter throughout. Rear hatch was punched nearly to drivers seat.

That's the first thing I thought - how the hell do you fit 6 people in a Spark?!

[ - ] Special_Prosecutor 0 points 3.2 yearsMar 26, 2022 00:31:48 ago (+0/-0)

You dont. Retarded teenage girl loaded 5 friends, became distracted, and pulled in front of truck trailer loaded with fucking boulders. Boulders for fuck sake!
So sad, 6 white girls, potential white mothers, to 18 white children erased out of history.

[ - ] PotatoWhisperer 0 points 3.2 yearsMar 25, 2022 14:51:47 ago (+0/-0)

They would have been safest with a man driving.

[ - ] SmokeyMeadow 0 points 3.2 yearsMar 25, 2022 14:58:52 ago (+0/-0)

If a man had run that stop sign and killed all those girls, they would have just said he ran the damn sign. But since it was a female driver, it was a "rolling stop." Yeah, she rolled right in front of a semi truck.

Probably fair to say at least four of them were not wearing seatbelts either ....
