Translation: The Russians have already encircled the bulk of the Ukrainian army over a week ago and that's why there are all those stories of the Russian advance "stalling". They're just chilling out waiting for the ukes to run out of food and surrender.

Yeah, that's what it seems to have been the Russian battle plan all along.
Send in outdated soviet era equipment and third tier conscripts to gauge enemy combatant strength and likely numbers and have Ukraine use up all their stores of expensive javelins and other nato weaponry on shitty 50-60 year old machinery, withdraw to distance and contain. While destroying Military bases and communications in the first few days limiting effective and coordinated responses among the isolated and disparate pockets.

LOlz at the poor Russian pow's - they were very probably telling the truth as they knew it when they say ' We were told it's only an exercise' - Yeah buddy, an exercise to use you to gauge enemy dispositions.
