Russia's economy is not "shattered" nearly as bad as their propaganda wants you to believe. Also, third countries watching this are not impressed. Globohomo's overreaction means there is something else going on here - the best take I've heard is that they expect China is planning to make a move with Russia and these measures are designed to keep China from doing so.

You don't get it. China is not going to become the world overlord like America has been. In a multipolar world countries will be left to run their systems how they wish. That's the entire point - Russia and China and India do not like having the USA tell everyone else how to do business. Sims 4 tried to skip releasing their new expansion pack in Russia too. Said it was bc Russia is homophobic and refused to sell it bc of the anti lgbt propaganda law. All they had to do is sell it for 18+, not let kids buy it. Base game even is 18+ sold in Russia. Since like 2014. Sims 4 acts like it’s a new law preventing it from being sold and they got called out so much they basically did an Oy Vey Shut It Down.
