I'm not familiar enough with mold to know how well it grows on silicon. I would guess that silicon is not very inviting for mold.

But very easy to clean since it is silicon. I haven't had one long enough to even know when it might get moldy.

Tip: don't angle it straight up - tilt it a bit.

And kids that have problems squeezing hard enough to make the fountain can just put their palm over it. Still makes a good arc.
