They either turn nocturnal or they say that's not an acceptable definition of nine to five.

Say OK, again.

Blow the horns at all hours from nine am on one day, to five pm on the next day, then silence for the same period, then noise again for yet another 12+ hours.

When asked what you are doing, explain that it's nine am of one day to five pm of the next day.

It they have to specify again that it's over one day.

Blare the horns nonstop, and tell them that you decided to go with some other astronomic definition of "day", they never said it had to be a 24 hour day.

It's better to wear them out mentally by maliciously complying, than to just straight up refuse, and play into a more straight set narrative.

It's worse for their sanity if you are making them have to carefully think of the wording of their statements, and doing it in such a smug way that its clear you are fucking with them, if they are in a high position of authority and unused or intolerant of disrespect, getting this from a common stinky assed trucker would be a form of psychological torture for them.

The goal of passive aggression and malicious compliance is to wear down the minds of the enemy.

You need to think like a troll and find the vulnerability or exploit in the targets psychology that will, if manipulated expertly enough, cause their mental systems to crash and burn.
