You don't! Because La Niña events occur every two to seven years:

El Niño and La Niña events occur every two to seven years, on average, but they don't occur on a regular schedule. Generally, El Niño occurs more frequently than La Niña.

I live in S.E.Texas Gulf coast,and every(seems like)year the weather guru's are talkin' about El Nino this & that,lately though "El Nino" has taken a backseat to the global warming hoax.NO disrespect intended.How's the weather&water where you are?

rain, rain and more rain. Indeed I've just packed up the mower because the rain came down. Still...got a bit done. The warm weather (summer) and the abundant rain is making the grass grow virtually overnight and all I seem to be doing is mowing grass! Anyway...
