Even though my time spent in Australia was brief. I'd say you'll need more then just a few natural disasters to shake some sense into people.

A more likely scenario, is that politicians and far left environmental groups will use this as evidence of climate change and make moves to remove even more freedoms and add more taxes to those individuals trying to make ends meet.

Also expect that some of the solutions they will draft will entail reducing Australians ability to be self sufficient. Most likely via cutting out oil and gas production in key areas leading more Australians to be unemployed.

In order to make up for some of the oil production loss, you can be sure that several politicians will turn to the chinese companies located in Australia. Those same politicians will likely be getting kickbacks from the chinese for selling the oil produced in Australia back to the general public using taxes. Those politicians will be multi-millionaires within just a few short years.

I would advise getting a list going. So as to keep track of all the bastards running the country further into the ground for their own personal gain. What you do with that list is up to you.

It's a good thing you're already under martial law. You guys should probably just make it permanent.
