So instead of buying a cheapo camping stove (or heater) he is going with a candle? Jeez, even a bloody kerosene lamp will put out more heat than a candle!
Between the Enron rolling blackouts in early 2000, and more recently the Texas version, one wonders just what it will take to shock the 'tards out of their beloved 'normalcy bias'. Seems like the writing is on the wall, but everyone is pretending they are illiterate. Stoopid people doing stupid shit, and then whining for sympathy when SHTF. Come to think of it, I'd guess this video is perfect for them!
Pfft...What this southern boy thinks is cold is nothing compared to what those of us living up north think is cold. His contraption would barely keep my matches warm enough to ignite.
When I was younger by buddies and I were screwing around one day trying to get a bucket of gasoline to ignite by throwing lit matches into it. It was so cold that the gasoline actually extinguished the lit matches as soon as they came into contact with them. (Does anybody know why?)
The best method for not freezing to death in a powerless situation it to dress appropriately and EAT. Your body will generate it's own heat through the digestive process and the right clothing will minimize heat loss.
There are times when I have to work on something outside in the cold and can't be wearing gloves. I will be dressed so warmly that my body naturally pumps extra blood to my hands in an attempt to cool itself down. Hence, my hands stay warm despite the subzero temperature.
Adapting to survival in cold weather is what made Whites high-IQ and superior to other races.
I was in Texas. I have a dodge 3500 with a pop up camper. I'd never used the propane furnace on that thing. I had to get up multiple times to turn it off because I was burning up. My bug out rig saved the day. Also having a real 4x4 truck is nice I picked up food for two people who couldn't do shit I drove over signs that said road closed too cops were not going to do shit.
This actually will work in something like a closet. I used to use a use a little 600 watt heater in my car and it would be about 60 F inside when it was -20 F overnight.
BTW he has 3 candles there so about 240 watts. A couple of these cans could definitely warm a small bathroom.
"Guessing" is the key word, here. Don't take my word for it; research these tea candle/pot setups and watch any video from a learned person who isn't on Etsy or Pinterest. I fell down this rabbit hole a few years ago.
If you're in a phone booth or a small enough, low ceiling room for the pot to radiate meaningful heat to the walls, floor, you, and anything else in there, just burn the candle.
If you're not in a small enough room for the pot to radiate meaningful heat to the walls, floor, you, and anything else in there, just burn the candle.
Alternatively, puff out a poncho or blanket and light a small candle inside. Yes, inside. You'll be warmer than you'd be running 3x of these inside a modest bedroom. Plus, if you set yourself on fire it'll be easy for actual men to tell you're retarded.
These goy yuppies crack me up. You can get a 100lb cylinder of propane and a wall mount and it will last for a good while for back-up. You can have a wood/coal stove in your place on stand-by. There's this other thing cawled a Salamander stove. You can build them but they are for outdoors only. Never listen to these prepper youtube grifters. Just trying to help some of you Nazis. Shaloms💎✡️
In all seriousness, if you want solid fuel heat, talk with your insurance broker. Last thing you want is to go bankrupt after your house burns down due to an unapproved solid fuel heat apparatus.
Besides cooking better, another benefit a propane stove is that you don't need electricity to light it and it'll keep things warmer than a candle if you lose power.
Not sure what the clay pot is supposed to do. It will absorb and reradiate thermal energy from the heat of the air and the light produced by the candle but that's really no different from the heat going directly into the air or being absorbed and reradiated by the walls. Perhaps it's acting like a radiant heater instead of heating the air? I'm still skeptical.
The heat capacity of air is quite low. This obviously won't heat the walls etc. But it could easily raise the temperature of the air in the room by 5-10 degrees.

Letting the heat escape is like holding a match a three feet away, vs holding the match under your hand.

you'd be surprised how much heat can be retained this way. it's not "heat your room" but gives you a small heat source to stave off extreme cold.
also for emergency / space blankets you're supposed to be naked.

You're better off grabbing an emergency blanket and wrapping yourself over the candle. You'll rise up 15-20 degrees and much faster.

You need to keep at least 20 candles lit all the time for any meaningful effect.

Think about how much/little that is.
Also remember that anything burning consumes oxygen and can produce carbon monoxide.
I imagine people will try this in a very enclosed space, which is very dangerous.
