We have one of these (smaller though) and we root for the big one to survive every year.

It makes a great Christmas decoration.

I know this sounds sad, but it’s also, I think, the actual spirit of Christmas. Not the arson itself, but what the arson represents: the eternal battle between goat-erectors and goat-burners; between the forces of cozy commercialization, eager to smother the season in ribbons, presents, and sparkly lights, and the contrasting, primeval urge to set something huge on fire because the sun has disappeared and who knows when it’s coming back.

These goats come from old traditions where children got some string, some hay, and were shown how they could tie their own little Christmas goat to play with. That toy can last the whole childhood. You don't burn it.

There is no natural movement or organization behind burning it down. It's kikes pushing pyromaniacs to do it by doing "news" reports on national tv like "Now it's only 4 days until the median day of the years the Gävle Bocken is burned down.". The organizers who put up the goat are against burning it down and has always been. They have organized more and more security with barriers and cameras, and they have put flame retardants all over the the goat. It wasn't burned down the last 4 years!

Whoever burned down the goat or other public Christmas decorations should to have their possessions burned down, that should be a tradition.
