They probably prefer "Hispanic" because it reminds them of their European Spanish admixture. The ones I have met, instead of hating Whites like blacks do, seem to be more jealous than anything. In southern Mexico there is a caste type thing set up where the spics with solely indigenous Mayan/Aztec/etc. genetics do all of the lowest paid, most strenuous labor. A bunch of central and southern american countries have similar setups, with places like Brazil and Argentina taking it farthest.
