a person may carry a knife on his or her belt for performing work in primary production
a fisher may carry a knife for use while fishing
* a person may carry a pen knife or Swiss army knife for use for its normal utility purpose.

There are heaps of legal ways around it.
I used to frequently carry a big FU dive knife on my calf in my 20s when on public transport, because of too many run-ins with coconuts and niggers.
