First the spider goes clockwise…then counterclockwise …

Is there something structurally important about that when building things?

The inner spiral goes outwards, but the outer spiral is built inwards. It appears to me the spider may have built the inner spiral first, to then use it as some sort of guide when building the outer spiral inwards. Going counter clockwise inwards allows it to follow the inner spiral back into the center while building the outer one. You can see it constantly referring back to the inner spiral while building the outer one. Perhaps the inner spiral also allows it to more easily move between the spokes and adds some rigidity while working on the outer one. The spider most likely has a PhD in structural web engineering.

I used to be afraid of spiders a lot as a child. Now, I'm delighted to see them. I try to take any that I find in my home and place them on the bushes outside. There was one time where a bigger than average spider made a beautiful web on the fence near the edge of my backyard. I took a lot of pictures. The spider disappeared after a big storm; I think he was washed away, but he could have retreated somewhere else. Fun while it lasted.

The nigger spider wouldn't build a web, he'd build a bridge by lining up two points and jumping between them a whole bunch of times. He'd then get national news media coverage for being the architect of the year for building a project that couldn't fail, while the white spider would build 50 webs in the same amount of time that it took to build the bridge. The nigger spider would then get so pissed off about his lack of true achievement that he'd steal 30 of the webs from the white spider and then shoot the white spider's wife by mistake. He'd then get an apology from everyone and 45 years of welfare checks.

Saw some articles about how spiders mysteriously changed methods and don't spin webs very often. Some kids growing up haven't even seen one in real life.
