This was when they were taking over music. metallica's best album musically but the start of their slide downhill lyrically. The start of grunge, of teaching kids it's cool to just not give a shit about things. I grew up on this and it shaped who I am but I also recognize how this was part of the decline of culture.

What's especially fun for me about this is that my older children are beginning to discover some of these artists, at least the ones I hadn't exposed them to already.

Sort of reminiscent of me discovering Zeppelin when I was younger. Good times :)
