If Jesus said "not to" something, it's worth considering. Jesus didn't say copy everything I say and and do. His ultimate to do list said to be kind to your neighbours. He also attached a rider saying to throw your love at him, meaning Jesus. If enough people throw their love at his higher being over and above the fucking government then the government has to be demoted, so I'm good with that.
It has to do with the spiritual and material world. Whatever material loss happens to us in this world doesn't matter compared to what will happen to our souls after death.
