Its been awhile, but I liked the Red PLanet a lot as a kid. Stranger in a Strange land is good, but one of his more jewy books. I remember liking A Door into Summer alot

I'd hardly call Asimov the "greatest" because I thought is writing was forced. He was extremely prolific, though. Unfortunately, he developed a reputation while he was alive as a groper and a grabber.
You may also be aware of the case of his son, David Asimov, who when he was living in Santa Rosa, CA, was arrested for having the "the biggest child pornography collection in Sonoma County history". It was a reproduction and distribution factory. He got a slap on the wrist, his pornography and equipment were confiscated, and life went on.
