Defective headphones madness continues     (technology)
submitted by Conspirologist to technology 3 months ago (+2/-2)
11 comments last comment...
Last, 2024 year I posted about the high rate of new defective headphones from top brands.

All prices are expensive, about $300.

I've got several headphones, all were defective:

Sony - power button quit working after one day.

JBL - headphones started pausing music, disabling ambient control, need constant reboot. App is freezing.

Sennheiser - power button quit telling power level. Battery can't fully charge.

Cambridge - headphones produced background white noise. Headband is designed flat on top instead of round, after a few minutes normal heads start feeling pain because of pressure on top.

This 2025 year it still continues.

Technics - ambient control sometimes freezes, touch control has false activation, on head sensor never works when headphones are put back on head, microphones start crackling when talking loud, talking on the phone, or coughing, sometimes white noise in background when ambient control is on.

As you can see, the Technics are the most fucked up, any part is defective. Like they were never tested before production.

This is not only me. On forums people complain to have the same defects. It's not single defective units, they are entire defective stocks from factory with massive return rates.

Help finding who owns the SBS brand     (technology)

I was told that SBS is a reliebale brand. They sell accessories for electronics, like USB adapters, USB cables, wall chargers, etc for computers and smartphones.

I can't find info for this company.

Only one site called SBS Mobile.

https://www.sbsmobile.com/gbr/en/

I've never heard of them, and don't know why I was told they are a reliable quality brand.

Spotify allows anybody to add music tracks. Is it possible to get infected by malware from these random tracks added by unknown users?

Microsoft has pause construction on a lot of new data centers for AI and has canceled leases on some others. This probably means that AI is not going to need half as many chips as people thought because of the new methods of training that the Chinese deep-seek AI revealed. After the end of free trial, Spotify becomes junk     (technology)
submitted by Conspirologist to technology 2 months ago (+1/-1)

Spotify is a hoax, forcing you to pay. After the end of free trial, even basic functions are switched off. It's normal for an app to have ads in free mode, but switching off basic functions is idiotic.

Are there other similar apps that have a normal free mode?

Can You Forge Molybdenum?     (www.youtube.com)

Mad scientist buys some pure molybdenum and plays with it in his well equipped machine shop. The comments explain that heating it like that and breathing the molybdenum trioxide fumes is a bad idea. Watch him machine a sleeve so that he can heat it to 850 centigrade in a stream of argon before forging.

Simple question about BT headphones problem     (technology)
submitted by Conspirologist to technology 2 months ago (+1/-1)
4 comments last comment...
Got new BT headphones. Worked fine for 2 weeks. Then suddenly left headphone quit working and started giving electrical noise. After I switched them off and turned them on, they are normal again. Are they defective and should I return them, or it is common for BT headphones?
