Great Dane on a Warm Summer Day

I came back from getting some groceries one day. My girlfriend was out doing some other errands. After I took Dani on a long morning run and then played with her in the backyard for a bit, I left her outside for a couple of hours. I find her like this. I knew that instant that I would never know the bliss of that dog's moment of joy. Even after I went outside to take some photos of her, she didn't move an inch.
She slept outside for another hour or two, and then signaled that she wanted to come back in. This photo has always been a comfort on some dark days.
