Copyright 1926.

Covers in decent detail his childhood til death.

I know we're not all fans of him for giving equal rights to jews among other things but I find his life fascinating.

Won 60 or so battles.

Crowned himself emperor.

Crossed the alps in his 20s and conquered northern Italy.

Conquered Egypt and brought back the Rosetta stone. French influence didn't last there long though.

Conquered most of Europe in his 30s.

Exiled twice to islands escaping one and amassing an army on his south to north march to Paris. Scared the current govt so bad they fled and didn't lock the doors.

He did fuck up a lot of stuff too.

Chasing after a dynasty in his name using his relatives that weren't up to task.

Letting his first wife sleep around.

Going back on some of his early ideals.

Leaving important military battles to less qualified generals.

Best I can tell is the author was a general in WWI and the book describes the upcoming war as necessary for survival and biological.

Must Read. Metro 2033     (files.catbox.moe)

My copy is from an Amazon publisher 2005.

This one is an absolute head trip.

Nuclear war had broken out in 2013 and irradiated the surface of Moscow. Many folks fled into the underground metro system and blocked off the entrances to the surface.

Artyom the main character grew up in the glow of emergency red lights in his metro station having been saved from a collapsing one that was over run by flesh eating rats.

Outside of his station is pitch black. The people that live in the stations know of each other but politics and ideologies separate them. Not to mention beings from the surface that have infiltrated the metro. Only flashlights and fires will help someone find their way.

He meets with a man that gives him an impossible task that will take him through the metro and its dangers.

In a way similar to "The Shining," the metro itself seems to be alive. One of his companions says heaven, hell and purgatory are gone now and when you die your soul resides there forever.

He encounters communist reds, "racist nazis," which only have some similarity to natsoc. Forgotten stations that are irradiated and the people that live there stop the surface creatures from entering.

Other stations have been restored nearly to what it was once like. Many die in agony in tents lining the stations walls.

The currency is 7.62x39mm rounds. Two cartridges may get you past guards for example.

The surface is toxic and can be only navigated at night as beasts beyond imagination have taken over. During the day you'd be blinded in 2 seconds. No one has heard anything from outside the metro.

The humans in the metro are just as dangerous as the beings on the surface. If not more so.

Artyom is to deliver a message to the main station Polis. However he will have to overcome many obstacles on his way.

Fusing metaphysics, political ideology, religious beliefs, how fate may influence your actions, how the people that remember life above and are resolute in that it will never come again, finding strength and willpower in your own self.

Lena McDonald Getting Caught With An AI Prompt In Her Fantasy Book Shows Most Readers Cannot Distinguish Between AI And Human Writing.

The smoking gun appeared in chapter three, where readers discovered the text: "I've rewritten the passage to align more with J. Bree's style, which features more tension, gritty undertones, and raw emotional subtext beneath the supernatural elements." This accidentally included prompt revealed that McDonald had been using AI to emulate the writing style of bestselling author J. Bree, whose romance and fantasy novels have achieved international success. FULL STORY

https://www.alibris.com/Maneuver-Warfare-Handbook/book/-818158041

Maneuver warfare, often controversial and requiring operational and tactical innovation, poses perhaps the most important doctrinal questions currently facing the conventional military forces of the U.S. Its purpose is to defeat the enemy by disrupting the opponent’s ability to react, rather than by physical destruction of forces. This book develops and explains the theory of maneuver warfare and offers specific tactical, operational, and organizational recommendations for improving ground combat forces. The authors translate concepts—too often vaguely stated by maneuver warfare advocates—into concrete doctrine. Although the book uses the Marine Corps as a model, the concepts, tactics, and doctrine discussed apply to any ground combat force.

You can also find mention of this book on Youtube, as well as on other websites.
