He knows 30x more about Rolex and watches in general than I do and this video really shows his unbridled passion and unrestrained autism. He is able to rattle off model numbers and features and how they have evolved for the entire history of the brand. It is similar to the guy who can rattle off all of the changed features of the different production years of Ford Mustangs and could tell you the year of every model simply by viewing a darkened silhouette. His love for the hobby is pure and he is not using his encyclopedic knowledge to fuck people over like a kikey 47th Street flipper, but just to gain further enjoyment and understanding. He's a guy with 2 kids and a wife and probably a relatively modest salary who is adding watches slowly to his collection and enjoying them. Guys like this can be a little scary, though, because they're real obsessive and idealistic purists who are put off by the slightest scratch, imperfection or polishing error, whereas a Philistine like me hardly knows shit comparatively and will walk around with scratches and an off-center index or a bezel that for whatever reason does not make the requisite noise when it rotates. Austin is very much like that as is J. Anthony,
