Because it represents complacency. It is an *inward* turning in search of meaning
in the face of crisis--rather than an *outward* turning to confront the challenges
of the world and our times. To align the world with our ideal, externalizing the will
through action and higher cause--this is the answer, and not 'hope'.
All those who push stoicism like Evola (from a literal glance at someone's recent suggestion of "ride the tiger"), are just selling you the poison of "do nothing because you have no power to change anything except yourself."
It's a vicious lie.
You have no power to change anything *by yourself*.
Understand the difference.
Theres a reason the symbol of fascism is an axe in a bundle of branches.
