The 'best' use for goto is probably breaking out of multiple nested loops. Since with the break statement you can only break out of the first loop.

Yes my bad. I just read COPY in bold letters and assumed you'd gone off the rails. For POD types copy by value might even be faster than references, since copies are pushed onto the stack, and don't live in a separate memory address. So it's not an automatic win. But for larger objects or any structs i would always pass a reference.

I am sorry but whoever wrote this is a fucking idiot and clueless about c++. & is a reference, it's not a copy of the object, it is the object. Under the hood it's similar to pointer containing the address of the object in memory, but you can't increment it or deference it.

I saw a news report some years ago and they said the flu shot was almost close to being completely useless for the elderly. Their recommendation was to have even more flu shots to combat it's almost complete ineffectiveness lol.
