It's possible but most nurses are retards when it comes to technology. I do know that most of the equipment is network connected for reporting (state, local, etc) It's not beyond the realm of possibility for them to remotely "adjust" the equipment based on desired targets. I recall looking at configuration documentation last week. I will see if I can dig it up again.

These are used to calibrate the testing equipment. Note on page one, positive control swab, negative control swab.
