I think the EVs may have something to do with their smart grid.

If they shut the power off in general, the gas stations and oil supply is running on it's own energy. Much more time consuming and difficult to shutdown at a moments notice.

Might be too low of frame rate, I think 90fps is the lowest you can go. Any lower, and you'll feel motion sickness.
