The electric grid is easier to sabotage that thousands of gas pumps?

[ - ] x0x7 1 point 1.6 yearsOct 16, 2022 09:26:25 ago (+1/-0)

Then the fears of Russian / Cyber attacks in general will be greater. WEF was warning of a computer based viral pandemic with "covid like spreading." They clearly want to solve a problem here and likely already have a solution they find favorable. They just need to sell it to the public. With more at stake it may be easier.

They wouldn't have brought up something that doesn't seem like their wheelhouse if they didn't have specific plans to pursue.

Maybe if we change to what the rest of the world calls it and re-label getting a fill-up at the 'petrol station'?

Gay.

We shall call it the FREEDOM station!

I think the EVs may have something to do with their smart grid.

Wouldn't be surprised if they are able to shutoff charging or substations from israel.

If they shut the power off in general, the gas stations and oil supply is running on it's own energy. Much more time consuming and difficult to shutdown at a moments notice.

"But-but I can generate my own electricity"
Yeah you can, but the majority cannot. Society would shut down, and you would have pretty much no where to go.

Also if it is a situation where they shut down charging stations and prevent road travel, you'll be shot by the local zogbots.

Remember, kikes always do 'prosperous' things for more control.

You can make electricity at home, not gas. All you need is sunshine. An investment of $50k would take you completely off grid and give you the ability to charge your own vehicles. Gas is ubiquitous and harder to sabotage than the grid, but making your own electricity in combination with electric vehicles makes you personally energy independent. By contrast a whole house generator that runs on LP (longest shelf life) plus a tank for two weeks of fuel is at least $20k installed. I actually welcome the proliferation of electric vehicles because it will make individual energy independence possible for the middle class.

That said this won't work everywhere. Europe doesn't get enough sunshine and doesn't have the topography for hydroelectric like China. For them it's either nuclear or fossil fuels, and only nuclear will give them energy independence on a national level, which is important for sovereignty. And nuclear works best with... electric vehicles.

So I don't get the hate for electrics on here. Politically it's a great development for individual and national autonomy.

The cells are nowhere near as efficient as they need to be to begin with for how much space they occupy. The cells degrade rapidly and lose a majority of it's effectivity within five to seven years. You can't maintain them without a supply chain and a specialist. Solar is not the proper path when we all face economic ruin.

You'll have power while the panels are working for a few years after shots fucked completely. That is if the panels never get damaged, which is highly unlikely.

A gas generator that's has an electrolyzer mounted to it is much more reliable and it's fuel source is water.

Solar and wind arent viable even when we have the resources to supply it, let alone when you'd actually rely on it for survival.

Hollywood lied to you with the "solar panel hideaway fortress paradise" trope.

[ - ] Teefinyomouf 1 point 1.6 yearsOct 15, 2022 23:12:12 ago (+2/-1)*

Uh, no. Solar works. It works in the "OH FUCK TURN IT OFF TURN IT OFF!!!" sense if you've ever worked with panels. When the sun shines they're on and they can easily electrocute you and start fires. It's not some BS toy. A system without batteries would still be useful. It can keep food cold and run AC during the hot afternoon. It can run well pumps and irrigation pumps, and fill reservoirs for later use. You can weld with it. A few unregulated panels make a pretty good DC welder. So what if you have to wait for a sunny day or watch the sky on a partly cloudy one. You have a DC welder in a SHTF scenario to make plows and all kinds of things. You'd adjust, not opening the freezer after dark and stuff like that. LED lights are low power and a few lead acid batteries have you covered there. Electric golf cart aren't rocket science either, using lead acid batteries again. If you're growing your own food with a hoe and collecting firewood and crap like that then a golf cart with a 4x8 trailer is a whole lot better than pushing a wheelbarrow. None of this requires a Tesla power wall. Let's recap. In a SHTF scenario you have lights, AC, freezers, well pumps, irrigation, a golf cart and trailer that will carry 800 lbs plus 4 people, and a welder. All without leaving home. How useless huh.

Do you have documented studies to support your claim that $50k worth of solar panel gear is enough to indefinitely sustain a standard household's power consumption?

Solar panels become less efficient over time. The batteries associated with the solar panels also deteriorate in the span of a few years. Let's be real here. In a SHTF scenario, you don't want solar, you maybe want woodgas generators.

[ - ] Her0n 2 points 1.6 yearsOct 16, 2022 00:58:50 ago (+2/-0)

Woodgas is what I have on my farm as our main power generation source. I'm building a waterwheel to use for short term, massive demand loads (like charging deep cycle batteries). I'm also trying to make a reliable radiant energy collector but I'm waiting for summer to finish those projects.

Woodgas is easy to make and maintain, but very dangerous since the gas is colorless, orderless, kills you, and is explosive to boot. Very reliable though!

I'm an electrical engineer and you are completely wrong.

Please present proof of anything you just claimed or kindly shut the fuck up.

I'm tired of you retards pushing solar when you have zero concept of voltaic solar cell technology.

You don't even realize that the voltage coming from the panels is about .5 to 1 volt @ 12-24 amps. That's nowhere near enough wattage to even light one strip of LEDs. Solar systems REQUIRE a battery and an inverter/capacitor bank to provide the 120VAC @ 20A needed for one fridge.

In a shtf scenario you will be with an inoperable system at worst, or at best about twenty to thirty seconds of power for one device before you overload your system.

You know so little about this it hurts me, please go remove your foreskin a second time as pennance. After that, go back to reddit where the normies will be too afraid to call out your bullshit.

[ - ] Teefinyomouf 0 points 1.6 yearsOct 16, 2022 09:42:44 ago (+0/-0)

Reference the data sheet for any panel you "engineer". There's an open circuit voltage with zero amps that's well above the panel rating. There's also a short circuit amperage with zero volts that's higher than the amperage for max power. A 48 volt 400 watt panel will deliver 8.3 amps at 48 volts in direct sun. Open and short circuit voltage, current, and power will vary drastically from this point. This isn't much different from a starter battery which delivers full amps at near zero volts (short circuit), and max volts at zero amps (open circuit). You can weld with an array of panels the same as you can weld with a battery. For power generation in indirect sun (most of the day) you use a MPPT (max power point) converter to run the panels at the optimum voltage and amperage for maximum watts while delivering rated or charging voltage at the output. Alternatively you use micro-inverters to output synchronized AC and these have an MPPT controller built in. I lived off solar for a number of years with a 12 volt 400w flat mounted array on my RV. That's not much but it could charge my batteries at 20 amps in overhead sun. It should have been more but advertised power isn't always what you get. So I've actually worked with panels on a small scale and they gained my respect. They're powerhouses. A 20kw array would be delivering what my 7kw generator would at 100% output for most of the day and it wouldn't burn 1.2 gph doing it. On cloudy days you get like 15% and you need to be ready for that. If it was cloudy I'd make my coffee on the gas stove. But usually it wasn't and I ran the coffee maker and microwave knowing that I'd soon have a full charge. Lots of stuff, even a gas forced air furnace, needs electricity. Panels a few lead acid batteries can solve this problem easily.

Go do it then, show it working to me. Put your money where your mouth is, I'll wait.

not gas

You can make various forms of refined biodiesel with almost no effort. Buy a diesel. Better: A multifuel diesel and then you can run it on gas, diesel, kerosene, motor oil, moonshine, whatever.

An investment of $50k would take you completely off grid

Nope. Not that cheap. Not now, not ever. I know that for a fact because I have solar and $50K would not do it. Maybe $70K if you want to invest in the battery backups and banks to support high power kick-on devices like dryers, AC units, and so on along with high draw devices like level 2 chargers (which require a 240 volt, by the way) and your stove while still powering every other device in your home.

blah blah

You sure have a hard on for owning a vehicle that will be useless in less than 5 years without a replacement battery. On top of it all, all it would take in a collapse is one bullet, just one, to destroy your car, home, and you. Pierce that battery pack and you get a hella nice bonfire you can't put out.

Also, methane is emmitted by livestock and also composting!

Collecting it is the challenge, but that too has been done. And makes more sense than these idiotic piece of shit chinese windmills!

But that's just, like my opinion. Man.

[ - ] totes_magotes [op] 0 points 1.6 yearsOct 15, 2022 22:41:55 ago (+0/-0)

All of those fuel types can be harvested from other cars, abandoned restaurant fry vats, and so on. Further, every single plant in existence can be pressed for oil which you can use to make biodiesel. As long as there's plants, you can drive.

[ - ] lord_nougat 0 points 1.6 yearsOct 15, 2022 22:45:31 ago (+0/-0)

Biodiesel as awesome.

I was referring to methane, an actual gas.

And my cars all rely on petrol; only the boat engine runs on diesel. I never did yet buy that old diesel Benz. But I might yet...

[ - ] totes_magotes [op] 1 point 1.6 yearsOct 15, 2022 23:08:58 ago (+1/-0)

You can liquify methane.

Hydrothetically, yes.

[ - ] Cunt 1 point 1.6 yearsOct 16, 2022 09:54:29 ago (+1/-0)

You make some good points.

One reason I think for the EV push is you can't get a classic EV car. Was Prius the first? Early 2000? And then in 2010 we get Tesla and the fully electric stuff?
So 10-20 years basically of electric cars. If petrol cars are outlawed (like they plan to) everyone must buy a modern car... with fancy modern tech. Like built in GPS tracking your every journey. Self driving, hackable cars they can tell to "malfunction" so dissenters have tragic accidents. Also I believe they will make virtual fences to lock drivers in cities or at least out of certain areas.

Pffffffffff!!!!!!!!!!

I made plenty of gas at home! The missus served baked beans on toast earlier in the day!

Nice, that's a new band for me to dig through. Much appreciated

I don't like the word gas used for petrol because it is clearly a liquid.
Feels like calling a Bruce Jenner a woman.

You know I took only like 2 years of German in high school, graduated like 30ish years ago. I remember enough that I didn't have to look anything up to understand what you wrote.

I took 3 years of Spanish and aside from a random word here and there, all I can remember is "Soy un pato gigante." That's it.

I guess we know where my heart really lies...
