The routine of getting up at 4:30 and going somewhere else for the sole purpose of mind/body connection has been invaluable. Otherwise I’m logging on doing make work that could wait.
I have had some surgeries over the past few years, cable machines/foam rollers have been 100% needed for rehab. I can’t run with my knee, hence the bike. As I’ve returned to shape, weights are, the best thing. Better than bands, better than body-weight, and the variety of poundages found there isn’t a cheap option to replicate. A bike to buy was around $8-900. Some cheaper, but they suck. That’s 80-90 MONTHS to break even, and that’s one piece.
Weights, because we’re men. Bone density increases, muscle v fat gets better (if a decent diet), and testosterone increases. Literally can’t be replicated to that degree with anything else. I’m 6’3”, between 205-210. I’m 60-ish. I was benching 2 plates before my shoulder gave me shit the last time.
