It was crazy stressful though, as I am sure you can agree. I think most people inevitably take the path of least resistance. You have to actually have some temerity to stick to it.

I was ostracized literally everywhere I went, attacked by strangers, and socially shamed at every turn. It was difficult to keep my job and even do basic tasks like shop for groceries. I had to accept the loss of friends, family, and deal with a constant wave of anxiety and problems everywhere I went.

I also went out of my way to "free the playgrounds" as I called it. I would take my bike around at night and remove all the yellow police tape and signage from all the local playgrounds with bolt cutters and shears. I just needed to do it for the kids.

It was a seriously stressful time, and I can understand I guess that most people weren't convicted enough to take a stand. But nonetheless, it forever shattered my belief that people will fight back when it matters. The opposite seems to be true. People will passively accept their situation and just find a way to survive. I guess I can't fault them for that, but it took away any illusions I harbored about my fellow man.

I'm happy to hear you did the same brother. It wasn't easy, and I think you're a great man for doing it. You made a difference and helped bring the world back to some level of normalcy.

I noticed as time wore on that people would see me not complying and getting away with it, and it would inspire them to stand up and do the same. I don't want to call myself some great warrior or pump up my own ego, but it was a fight worth fighting, and I hope you know you made a difference brother.
