There were some good insights on a earlier poast (roofers), re status amongst tradies, but I found it lacking. Here is my assessment, BASED on 35+ years of bein in the trades (ranked low status to high):

cleaners/maids = you are retarded

materials delivery driver = not even worth talking to, total dimwit that 'used to work construction'

trash hauler = retarded drunk tweeker

landscaper/yard man = you are retarded and probably a beer addict


painter = semi-retarded and 95% certainty of alcoholism

drywall dude = a bit thick in the head, loves beer and pot, plays in a shitty classic rock band

wallpaper (only) dude = total homo, bitter, knows all the guys laugh about him, will rope some day

carpet (only) guy = idiot, closet fag

roofer = ex-con that is easily insulted by imaginary slights, loves vodka and meth

rain gutter installer = too pussy to be a roofer, constantly complains about the weather

siding guy = a failed carpenter that is always hung over, porn addict

plaster/stucco bro = tough, cranky, doesn't give a fuck bout nuthin 'cept gittin paid, alky

heavy equipment operator = brute, boozer, closet fag, installs and deletes Grindr app several times a day, wife-beater, several DUIs

pool builders = tough, understand basic plumbing, porn addicts and alkys

mason/brickie = dumb but funny and hard-working, honest, bro

framer = surprisingly smart, tough, but crude...has done time but now stays out of bars

flooring guy (all types except carpet) = average IQ, stopped drinking but vapes constantly

tiler = flooring guy with slightly higher IQ and stamina, obsessed with large-breasted women

window/door installer = always raging about something, usually the 'fuckin framers'

finish/trim carpenters = smart, loners, hate everyone on the jobsite ('umm could you turn the radio down?')

plumber = reeks of sewer but makes fat bank, fairly intelligent but drops F bombs constantly

electrician = smart, aloof, looks down on everyone, doesn't speak

AC/HVAC dude = got tired of being a plumber, now makes the same money but doesn't reek of sewage

kitchen installers = don't even look in their direction, you scum

decorators/designers = only see the homeowner, everyone else is invisible

architect = GOD (edit: also full-blown homos)

As a semi-pro musician, I am quick to hate new bands and singers. When she hit the scene a few years ago, I instantly hated her, solely based on her appearance.

BUT...today I was practicing keyboards, playing along with various Pandora stations. A BE song came up, and I started to downvoat it, but decided to listen. It was ...interesting. The music, instrumentation, recording techniques, her voice...I was pretty flummoxed.

A bit later, another of her songs came on. Same thing. I listened to it, and afterwards felt dumb about judging her before ever hearing her. Later, a third song came on. Same effect: I liked it. Slow, surreal, sadgirl stuff, but very well-made, and she is a good singer with a nice voice.

Did she write it? Doubtful. Did her parents groom her from birth to be a music star? Yes. Is she a lefty niggerlover? Of course. But the lesson learned, is don't judge a fat lefty chick by her carefully crafted image. I don't hate her anymore, which is kinda sad, but there are plenty of other people to hate, like Queeri, for example.

I worked on a guy's boat today on the Emerald Coast of FL. When I got home, I had a sudden urge to go out. I never go out, unless I am playin music at a bar with a band, which I do a few times a month.

First place: very nice upscale place on a bay. Haven't been there in a year. Trio band playing. Chick singer is WAY too fuckin loud. Bassist is basically soloing the whole time. No one is sitting near them. I try, but move away a minute later. Caterwauling roastie angst is not for me.

This venue is famous for sunsets. I go to the ass end of the property, and there are a dozen niggers takin pics. Now, these are upscale niggers, old and yung, a fambly on vacation, dressed nicely and not chimping out. Still, I was so aggravated that I left. This whole area is super White, fuckin niggers should stay in Atlanta.

I walk across the street to another place. Same owner. Super upscale, realtors and doctors n sheeit. No niggers this time. No band, no music. Lots of expensively dressed people, tasty chicks. I sat on a bench and had a beer (I rarely drink). Looking at all the happy people made me wanna puke, so I left.

Drivin home, I decided to hit another place. This is an expensive touristy area, lots of bars. Haven't been there in over a year. A DJ was butchering songs as a band was setting up. Shit music. I sat at a table, and a hideous troll roastie told me it's for food-eaters only. I gave her my meanest glare, and said I am leaving anyway. I went home and ate some shroom gummies. Hope the rest of the night is more interesting.

TL;DR: normie shit is just not for me. But it was a good reminder why I never bother going out.
