Curved screen monitors

Yay or nay? My monitor took a shit and bought a new one and it's curved. Not sure if I like it. What's the point?

I don’t like the curved monitors.

It's kind of grown on me. I think I'd like it more if I watched a lot of video content in full screen. You don't really notice it once you sit down and get into things though. I'm keeping it.

Had a client that had a 32” curved one. Always gave me a headache. Couldn’t sit at his desk.

The point is to angle the screen so it's perpendicular to your line of sight. As to how useful that is in reality, that's up for you to judge.

I got a 49" curved monitor that I bought while drunk (go figure). I did not like it at first, but after three days, I got used to it and now love it.

Company I work for bought a bunch of the curved screens. The 28 inch curved was MUCH cheaper than a 24 inch flat...more than $150 cheaper from late 2020 till late 2023. Tried working on the curved but don't care for it. I travel so got to sit at other folks desk
who have them attached to their docking station and my head hurt after using them for a day.
Have dual flat for travel now, at the office, and home, don't use the curved anymore if I can help it.
Not many Red Pilled folks in the company, though there are some. Have noticed the ones who may be are the ones who still have flat screens...coincidence?

You get used to it. Mine was a bit aggressive but it's grown on me. Supposed to lessen eye strain, which I suppose it does. Less/no eye-burn during late-night programming sessions.

That being said, my 2nd is still a smaller flat monitor. Had to replace the 32" when it ate shit, went with a 22" $90 one and it works fine for a side-bitch.

My 2nd monitor is a smaller flat too. I think that's what is making it so jarring. I don't feel like returning it but if I had to choose I think I'd go flat over curved.

I bought a 34" 144hz 3440x1440 curved monitor for $260 to replace a triple monitor setup. And its pretty awesome. I'm happy with it. I would buy a curved monitor again. There's differences in curve aggressiveness so check into that.

Idunno, they look really cool.
But I have a pair of cheaper but very nice flat monitors which serve adequately.

Yeah I replaced a cheap acer flat lcd. It served me well hated having to replace it. Not sure about the whole curve thing. Maybe it will grow on me.
