In theory you shouldn't even have equality of opportunity. If you want people to pursue the family model you give them their associated opportunities within it.

In practice you don't have equality of opportunity. Women don't have the same opportunities to be roughnecks. It's too physically demanding. Not even all men have the same opportunity there, nor do they all have the same opportunity to be professional football players. I as a man don't have the opportunity to birth a child.

In fact opportunity is inharently unequal in its definition. That's what opportunity means. The unique things life gives you that if ceased on might give you a positive result. It's humanity farming randomness. If we don't take advantage of the variant conditions then we will only be allowed to act on what is the same between us. That's going to leave about 80% of what life can give us on the table and humanity as a whole will be less productive and less prosperous.

Me taking advantage of my strengths or my mind or my freedom of time others might not have doesn't harm other people. Me doing well raises the general condition of humanity and no sane person would be angered by that unless they only viewed the world through pettiness.

They can do everything society tells them and take advantage of all the special opportunities women get and they will still fail. Physically they can't put in 40+ years at a career and emotionally they give in before that. I've seen women have depressive episodes because they had to work eight hours a day. I've known some very accomplished, smart, what you would think are 'alpha' women and they tap out. Because they can.

They can't make enough to support their lifestyles and even if they would be able to there is always that thought of babies and children. I've known some very manly, butchy women and even they want to have kids. That means they need a man, who they've been told they should hate.
