Thanks, for the "spoiler" I couldn't figure out what the hell this post meant??

That's really well done. Obviously not the usual 'fill the square' thing.

I'd like to know how this is done. I didn't examine it too closely, but I don't see any obvious color differences to create the shape. And given that the minimum threshold in Paint is pretty visible, I think I'd see it. Am I wrong about that? Or is there something else going on here?

I'm not sure how it was made, either. It works in shitty online editors and old Paint, but not in Photoshop (at least not with my copy of CS4).

Edit: Worked in CS4 with anti-alias off, contiguous on, and 5% tolerance. Here's a low-opacity fill, and it still doesn't make sense.

Edit 2: The maze is a red herring. The RGB values for the merchant are 255,252,252, and the rest is pure White. This could easily be turned into a template for any other image.

Edit 3: Played around with it a little bit. In some cases you can do it the way the original was done (transparent maze over background layer). Some cases you'll need to do a foreground image layer with low opacity... Tyrone for example, requires the latter method, or this will happen. Here is Tyrone unsolved.

Holy cows great information. Only 3 values off the G and B? That's something. I bet I could set up a mask for that. Your reply makes me want to mess around with it in Gimp. Bet I could make masks for a lot of interesting shapes. Thanks.

Hah, no problem. It's been raining and it felt like a Photoshop kind of day.

That's not how this works. That's not how any of this works.
