The sleight of hand that they are doing is that it genuinely is illegal to support terrorist efforts (Hamas). But, these protests are for Palestine, not Hamas. Protesting for a nation or approved religion is not illegal. Therefore we may likely expect to see some actors planted in the crowd to raise Hamas flags in order to paint the crowd in a specific light.
