2. running a lab with all of the necessary equipment for culturing bacteria and then purifying the mixtures (eventually this would have to be scaled for mass production)
It has a lower carbon footprint!
No, no it fucking doesn't.
I'm pretty sure these claims are just completely fucking arbitrary at this point, or they're ignoring all of the inputs involved. Even on its face, this is just totally implausible.
They sure as fuck aren't accounting for that whole lab. Sure, I doubt that a single company is doing all of this in-house. You probably have a supplier for the microbes, and a company who purifies the protein, and then another company that manufacturers the consumer products. It doesn't matter. If you want to calculate carbon footprints (like it even fucking matters), it needs to account for every input. It would be interesting to see how these carbon scores are calculated because I can guarantee it's reeealll Jewy.
How about this? People raised cows before we had electricity or gas-powered anything.

You're right. My dad likes to point out that HGTV did a "zero emissions house" where they cut down local lumber and built over it (so there's carbon recapture lost since those trees aren't coming back). There was, of course, a bunch of fuel used to construct the house by the workers and such. Solar panels put on, etc. etc. But once they got it all up and running, that's when they took the measurement.
They can only claim that because factory farmed cows that are fed nothing but agricultural waste products have a way higher carbon footprint than grass fed cows that simply eat natural foods. Cow farts gonna destroy the ecosystem and all that. But it takes more labor to graze cattle in open fields than to put them in tiny cages with nothing to do but gorge themselves on shitty food, which is the same reason why the elite want you to live in the pod and eat the bugs.
They left out the part of cow and animal shit regenerating the top-soil and preventing another major dust bowl when starving refugees worked for pennies.
I want to swing a baseball bat against somebody’s head. A crack. That homerun swing. I bet it feels like the pleasure god wanted us to feel when he installed it. Imagine how good it would feel making somebody squirm by physically smacking their nerves. Mmmmmhmmmmhmmmm

Raising cattle is carbon neutral. Notice all that grass in the pasture? Guess what, it's going to die and decay at the end of the growing season. Or it will die and decay inside a cow. Either way, it 'produces' the same carbon dioxide and methane.
The mushroom thing is something that sounds interesting. Not what (((they))) are doing with it, but it should be experimented with as more of a food source than it is today. There's a lot of shrooms that are very beneficial to people's health. But using it to replace meat is stupid.

#2 mushroom protein sounds cool
#3 solein looks edible
#4 the lab grown meat shit is "icky"
Depending on taste and additives I'd try 2 and 3. If it was <$2/lb I'd implement it to add variety to my diet.
I'd very much like to mix a mushroom protein paste with mashed potatoes and fry that up in bacon grease mixed with eggs
