The shipping cap appears to still be in place.

The firing-pin and primer are held apart by the sleeve-spring.

Before firing, the shipping cap is removed and the selector is set to INST or DLY.

At firing, the setback-sleeve moves rearward.

The sleeve retaining-ball drops into the cavity.

The lock-pin retaining-ball rolls sideways.

The lock-pin retaining-ball comes to rest above the lock-pin sleeve.

During flight the setback-sleeve is forced forward by the sleeve-spring.

The lock-balls fall into the body cavity and the firing pin is then free to move.

Detonation can then occur on impact.

Unless the above sequence of events takes place, you can beat on this thing until hell freezes over and all you'll get is tired.

(Do I recommended it? No. Would I feel just a teensy bit better about it if that was shipping plug and NOT a live fuze? Yes. A little. But I'm not the guy out fixing track in combat either. But I did used to blow stuff up a lot.)

No, it has an explosive charge in it.

But it's designed to be fired out of a rifled cannon, the back end, which is what he's pounding that stake with, has to take the heat and pressure of the propellant sending it down the bore. A heck of a lot more than it's currently experiencing.

Even so, if he manages to slap the other end too hard in the wrong way, it might go off. Still stupid.

I'm pretty sure that's a round, not a cartridge. It has no propellant. The back end is just solid steel.

Well, even putting aside the Jews (and even if you think the Holocaust is a hoax it is beyond dispute that the Jews were running from the Germans to cross over into the Soviet side) Nazi Germany wiped Poland off the map. That isn't something the Soviet Union ultimately did. Then there are the ethnic cleansing and racism issues. Germans viewed Poles worse than white Southerners in the US viewed niggers, really. As fellow Slavs it is fair to say the Soviet Union's hostility was more political.

Poland wasn't on the map before WWI. The Jews created that country stealing German soil (Sudetenland & East Prussia). The Germans still living there were treated like shit until the Nazis stepped in. Unlike the Soviets, German soldiers weren't allowed to rape Polish women. It was punished by death. The Soviets marching in killed all the Germans they could find and enslaved the Poles. They were so nice that Poland profoundly hates Russia up to this day.

Poland mostly hates Russia to this day because unlike Germany Russia isn't a vassal of the US, militarily subordinated. One can imagine the Polish response if Germany ever rearmed again.

I see, I read a bit about this just now. I read about the razing of Warsaw the by Germans and the overall damage done and the number of dead. Looks like Germany really didn't like Poland for taking a bunch of their lands.

But your point is more on an overall damage effect while mine is on the behavior of individual soldiers. Even more recent you can read about Russians that raped and killed women in Ukraine.

Whereas the Katyn Forest massacre of many thousands of Polish military officers, should be viewed as a Nazi / Commo cooperative venture.
