It might be an ugly situation given 2 things.

1st) Iran has developed hypersonic missiles which can hit US ships in a very short time.

2nd) Their allies, the Houties of Yemen, could easily do the same on the other major oil transit point not far away-the Red Sea. In fact, not long back, the Houties declared victory over the US when the US navy gave up attacting them.

Nothing I can do about it anyway, I'm sure it's been gamed up one side and down the other at Centcom. They likely already have a cool name planned out for the op.

If Trump bombs Iran it's likely the oil traffic stops. And Russia has every reason to back Iran.

Iran, Russia, and China are effectively aligned in a mutual defense pact - and any effort by the US to pick them off one by one will be viewed as a threat to all of them. The US always does this shit. Try to finish off one 'outlaw' regime after another - which in effect means they just concentrate their forces against the next country that refuses to obey. After Iraq, Libya, etc., everyone understands they're next.
