Let me tell you about Ahab the Arab the shiek of the Golden Sand, and the Sultan"s whole army in hot pursuit, on and on he ran...WHAT IN THE FUCK TRIGGERED YOU TO POST THIS?...it's from the 50's Chantilly Lace era, it's been dormant for at least 40 years now but for some reason it came to mind last week when splitting up some wood, I actually used the tune in a school improvisation session and I remember the social-science topic that morning, it was on the TET OFFENSIVE & blah blah blah...fuck I could go on & on but I can't believe, of all the fucking tunes in the world you bring up this one...I know the lyrics, I didn't go to the link....this could be an omen in which case a Voodoo curse is cast upon all who read your post.

I haven't looked yet either but this is probably Ray Stevens version from the 70's.
I listened to Ray for many years. Liked all of his tunes. A few years ago I watched one of his vids. My jewdar went off like crazy. I don't listen to him anymore.

This is a Ray Stevens song from 1962. He wrote it and was his second top 40 hit. It reached number five on Billboard's Hot 100 and number nine on the Billboard R&B chart. It remains one of the best-selling records of Stevens' career.

Ray Stevens, born Harold Ray Ragsdale, is not a jew, but as a Southern Christian, he probably sees jews and judaism as a component of Christianity. I have some Christian friends who have a similar opinion on jews, unfortunately. I would try to talk sense into them, but it would likely strain or ruin the friendship, so I keep it to myself.
