As a kid, there would be old black dudes at the local waterways, fishing with long-ass bamboo poles, laying their bait in the mud, hoping to catch carp. Not sure if anyone here has ever caught a carp. I have, when I was a kid. They stink like sewage. I was taught to bait a hook, and take a fish off a hook, and even clean it. Never could remove a carp, due to the overwhelming odor. Just a vignette from m childhood.

No, I don't fish any longer. Can't really call that a lodd, or a winl.
