Time Dilation.

submitted by __47__ to TellTalk 1 dayMay 27, 2025 16:49:20 ago (+24/-0)     (TellTalk)

I dunno if you goats have this or not. My childhood and teenage memories feel like they expanded and lasted for years. 13-18. Five years and so much changed. My mom lost the battle when I was 18. Cancer.

Time started progressing fast. Every day was largely the same. Money, paying bills, tax rates, 401k returns, moving up the ladder. Getting groceries, cleaning, just to sleep and do it all over again.

Friends change. Lose touch. Reestablish contact and you still have that bond buts never gonna be the same. They have kids now. They also have shit going on. So they can pay to sleep. No going back.

Summer memories in a photo album may be all that's left. Can't go back. That place is gone and so is the town. Infested now.

Older now. I still feel young but the face in the mirror says otherwise.

Ya start asking did I waste it? Questions like a rolodex appear in your thoughts while you try and sleep.

Ya start asking is this as good as it's gonna get? I worked my life for this? For my struggles, paying taxes, being a good citizen. This is the payoff?

Tragic really.

Time Dilation.

My childhood and teenage memories feel like they expanded and lasted for years.

Time started progressing fast.

The brain records time logarithmically. It also counts logarithmically. When you’re 9, another year of your life is 1/10th of the entire time you’ve been alive. When you’re 39, another year is only 1/40th. In terms of physical space for memories, the formation of neuronal connections, and for the extent of novel instruction, the brain remembers more of your earlier years than your later ones. This is also because you “get into a rhythm” with your later years, so repeated daily tasks don’t need to be vividly remembered.

[ - ] Reunto 4 points 1 dayMay 27, 2025 17:31:37 ago (+4/-0)

Yes, and we subconsciously and consciously ruminate. Every time we recall a memory it basically creates a copy of that memory. Meaning a moment experienced in childhood can be re-experienced throughout your life.

Meaning a memory from childhood could vividly exist through 80% of your lifespan while a fresh experience is a drop in the bucket.

omfg, we're bad code.

[ - ] CoronaHoax 2 points 23 hoursMay 27, 2025 20:52:50 ago (+2/-0)

We're literally learning machines.

Infact if you learn enough about how to train a machine learning algorithm, and procede to take the sames steps against yourself to learn something, you'll hyper learn it.

Ie I used this technique before for learning bowling. All my life never got more than 120 points. Within a few rounds of treating myself like a machine learner, within two games all but two turns were a strike or a spare.

Please advice wise one<<< not being sarcastic if you can improve bowling that fast maybe it can help me

When I’ve got more time tonight I’ll explain the technique and how it’s applied and how it’s rooted in machine learning

I was just wondering where you were!

Thanks so much.

Nothing is new in your later years. Life is that of experiences of a learning machine. You stop making recordings so to speak because you're not experiencing anything new, let alone even actively seeking them.

Even if you were seeking them, just becomes harder and harder to find them, their value less and less because you'll tend to seek out the more higher value ones first.

Your job after a certain point, is to raise the next generation with your collected knowledge / experiences.

[ - ] Kozel 0 points 17 hoursMay 28, 2025 02:30:09 ago (+0/-0)

Nothing is new in your later years.

Untrue

plenty of new experiences

and if you go long enough without something

its basically a new experience when you do it again

I find myself intentionally not remembering details of things because it does not deserve the brain power anymore. I'm a very detail oriented guy, but not every detail matters anymore. Honestly I don't remember people's names, not because I can't remember or don't want to, but simply I just don't feel like it. I do deal with a lot of people. Some for close to 10 years and I don't know their names. (Work place people) Sometimes I wonder if its dementia or something, or just my form of laziness

[ - ] puremadness 0 points 23 hoursMay 27, 2025 20:16:34 ago (+0/-0)

Amnesiacs stay young forever?
They just get older.

[ - ] Belfuro 0 points 18 hoursMay 28, 2025 01:12:13 ago (+1/-1)

This of course is pure supposition.

I'd ask you to prove your opinion but we both know that you cannot.

I mention this to remind you that humility is important.

Also remember, no one knows how the brain really works or even what conscious is.

[ - ] Tallest_Skil 0 points 5 hoursMay 28, 2025 14:14:57 ago (+0/-0)

This of course is pure supposition.

Five seconds of effort would prove you wrong. You’re incapable of that.

I'd ask you to prove your opinion but we both know that you cannot.

Already did. Run along now.

I mention this to remind you that humility is important.

Cool, now go be humble somewhere else, you lazy fuck.

Also remember, no one knows how the brain really works

Thanks for admitting the brain records time logarithmically. Go fuck yourself.

or even what conscious is.

Consciousness is the soul manifesting in the physical world.

And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack

And you may find yourself in another part of the world

And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile

And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife

And you may ask yourself, "Well, how did I get here?"

Life can take you to some interesting places if you let it.

Not sure I will miss home as much as my current spot. However, I will always miss the culture of home. Wisconsinites are just different. Still working on land acquisition though...life is more fun as free-range farm kid.

My hope is that the song will echo in my head when in 10 years I'm collecting chicken eggs and giving my donkeys carrots.

You missed the starting gun

Hate to break it to ya but none of that shit is for us. It's for the faggot elites. Even if it's super cheap they will artificially gatekeep it from us. You're not getting the live forever juice.

[ - ] rzr97 0 points 1 dayMay 27, 2025 19:23:26 ago (+0/-0)

You COULD be right BUT it's going to be so unbelievably easy they may just do it.

They could also kill us all instantly OR give us all access to increasing AI intelligence, jump to other galaxies and watch us all kill each other over pettiness.

What people don't understand is the rules of physics itself will soon be unlocked and THAT will change everything instantly.

Vr simulation is heading towards a future straight out of the matrix.

They may keep you alive forever, plugged into their VR simulation in a false reality while they harvest whatever they need from your unconcious body.

[ - ] rzr97 0 points 1 dayMay 27, 2025 19:59:18 ago (+0/-0)

They won't need it. Go ahead and give your info to ancestry, etc. boys. It really doesn't matter. We're lower than piss ants. We think we're not but we truly, truly are. The ONLY thing they could get from us is entertainment at our demise and torture BUT even that is pathetically easy and not worth it. Maybe they'll keep us around for the challenge.

[ - ] RobertJHarsh 0 points 22 hoursMay 27, 2025 21:59:17 ago (+0/-0)

I really wonder that sometimes. They could kill us anytime they feel like and perhaps keeping they are keeping us around for the chance we could destroy them.

anecdote I find fasting makes my memories feel longer. when I did long fasts are periods that I remember far more. Like I did 26 days once and remember it more saliently than 5 years of normal life. I game it now because my work is seasonal a bit and fast more on my off season to try and stretch it and reduce the remembered suffering ( I hate my job)

[ - ] Merlynn 1 point 19 hoursMay 28, 2025 00:31:26 ago (+1/-0)

What you're experiencing is redundant memories. You do the same thing every day, they all run together. It makes it seem like time's going faster but the truth is,you're just doing the same thing over and over. No difference,no real reason to remember all of it. Brain just skips it to save space. Suddenly a year breaks down to a few days where something different happened.

It's a side effect of the corporate grind. One the jews are happy about. You lose track of days and they can basically tell you what day it is. What's going on,what's happened. They kind of rely on it.

People aren't supposed to live like this. We should be doing a variety of tasks instead of specializing in one thing. Learning more as we go.

But as to your question of "where did the years go",you sold them to the jews for money.

No schools, no malls, no postal offices, no news companies, no churches temples or mosques, go to the bankers, go to the politicians, go to where the celebrities live and by like Charles mansions family. Cut the head off the snake.

Time dilation occurs with body temperature.

Children have higher metabolisms so the it seems slower for them.

Also if you are in a state of flow, it goes faster.

Stem cell treatments for your face.

Once issue is meaning, went you are young there are many healthy people of your age with free time. You have diminishing returns interacting with them.

But they all have the purpose to reproduce, after that they are just a support in character, out of the game, adrift.

Another trick is changing your environment - visit already somewhere new and be baffled by what you see.

[ - ] Trope 1 point 1 dayMay 27, 2025 18:59:31 ago (+1/-0)

Do you consume caffeine? Caffeine can cause time to pass very quickly.

You seem to be in a fit of nostalgia lately. That’s cyclical. How’s your health? I managed to cure my nostalgia issue but cannot disclose it here.

[ - ] Indoctrinated_USA 1 point 1 dayMay 27, 2025 17:29:01 ago (+1/-0)

What you're describing is a real phenomenon of aging.

As we grow older, we lose the ability to perceive time the way we did when we were young.
When we were five, three months was an eternity.
When we're thirty five, three months is a crunch.
When we're sixty five, three months can pass almost without notice.
It's also why we become more emotional and less rational as we progress into old age.

[ - ] __47__ [op] 0 points 1 dayMay 27, 2025 17:46:28 ago (+0/-0)

I don't feel more empathic and I refuse to pay and extra .10$ on a product.

[ - ] Indoctrinated_USA 1 point 1 dayMay 27, 2025 17:57:35 ago (+1/-0)

Ah, but you must understand, you have to pay that additional ten cents so that those who wish you harm may thrive.
In all seriousness, as a general truth and contrary to hollywood fiction - we become less self-aware as we progress through old age.
While we may not perceive these changes, it does not imply they are not occurring.

[ - ] __47__ [op] 0 points 1 dayMay 27, 2025 18:07:28 ago (+0/-0)

Nah I'm completely understand that.

I worked a place where my pay was based on what you brought and how fast I could sell it. This led to many fights. I once bought a cubicle payphone made in the same city. Priced it at $150 (bad value) as the fucking thing sold in less than 24 hours. I would actively exploit nostalgia. Mall madness board game from the 80s? $45. No issue

[ - ] boekanier 0 points 17 hoursMay 28, 2025 02:29:03 ago (+0/-0)

"we become less self-aware as we progress through old age"...? allow me to question this. This seems to me more personal.

[ - ] Indoctrinated_USA 0 points 17 hoursMay 28, 2025 02:48:38 ago (+0/-0)*

As your cognitive processes decline, so too must the fidelity of your perception due to these changes.
The only reason to suggest it is personal is if you wish to make it such.
All humans who age out of life must experience the effects of age-related decline.
It is not more personal to you than anyone else.
