In an example of the cutthroat rivalry between carmakers, Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD announced at the weekend that it would cut the prices of more than 20 of its models.

The move brings the price of its cheapest car, the Seagull EV, to as low as 55,800 yuan ($7,745; £5,700).

In April, BYD outsold Elon Musk's Tesla in Europe for the first time, according to car industry research firm Jato Dynamics.

Tesla's cheapest car, the Model 3, is $41,000.

That car will sell for around €21k in Europe and it's only just being released, so not in the previous stats. BYDs cheapest car in Germany is the Seal which is roughly the same price as Tesla Model 3.Not good for Tesla. I think people are sick of Tesla terrible build quality and shitty interior they call "minimalistic". Compare the Seal interior vs the model 3. Tesla has no gearstick or indicator stalks. People want buttons, not everything through a touchscreen tablet.

The article says that the cheapest BYD car in Europe is the Seagull, not the Seal, and it sells for €18,950 in Germany on 2024. The model 3 in Germany is €42,500 for the base model and €51,500 for the extended range model.

Its not that people are sick of Tesla, it's that it's 3 times or more expensive than the cheap Chinese fag car. Of course the cheaper car is going to our sell the 3 times more expensive Tesla, which is far, far better performing car. Your TDS is fucking pathetic.

There are no two ways about it: the Model 3 Performance is the best straight-line performance value in the segment. Its dual-motor powertrain makes 510 horsepower and 554 lb-ft of torque, helping it rocket to 60 mph in a claimed 2.9 seconds.

In China, there are currently three trims offered: a base model called the "Vitality Edition" (活力版), a higher specification "Freedom Edition" (自由版), and a top-specification variant called the "Flying Edition" (飞翔版). All three models are powered by a single 55 kW (74 hp; 75 PS) permanent magnet synchronous motor driving the front wheels, with a top speed of 130 km/h (81 mph),[12] a claimed 0–50 km/h (31 mph) acceleration time of 4.9 seconds,[38] and a 0–100 km/h (62 mph) time of 13 seconds.
Both the Vitality and Freedom models come with a FinDreams 30 kWh LFP Blade battery, enabling a cruising range rating of 305 km (190 mi) on the CLTC; the Flying model sports a larger 38 kWh battery pack and a range of approximately 405 km (252 mi). The battery can be recharged via a household AC power plug at 6.6 kW, or via a DC fast charger at 30 or 40 kW (depending on the model), during which it reportedly can be charged from 30% to 80% capacity in 30 minutes.

The Seagull only went on sale in Europe this week. So it's not in any sales figures. You tried to make out the only reason BYD outsold Tesla is because of that car. Only available a couple of days ago in Europe, so obviously not A factor yet. Also, it will be half the price of a tesla model 3. Not 3 times.

Nigger, again, Tesla sales are declining, as expected, as new competition comes online and takes up market share, which is to be and was expected. Tesla stock is over 100% above the 52-week low. Tesla is not slumping or hurting. The lowered sales were completely expected, which is why the stock is still soaring despite halving car sales.

I know you want to believe Tesla is having problems but nothing reflects that once you can manage to wrap your head around the fact that lowered sales numbers does NOT spell trouble for the manufacturer.

Tesla is at 360.00 that's almost 120% above their 52 week low and rising, with a "buy" rating. Clearly, they are not having problems. Can you name any other manufacturer 120% over their 52 week low?

Their P/E ratio is higher than its ever been. They are bigger now than ever before. Lol.
