Lithium ion batteries are like having a small cylinder of gasoline. If they are not stored properly or they've been damaged or they've been end of life or base or overcharged or undercharged or at the wrong temperature just like a little bitty can of gasoline that's been damaged they can explode.
You really have to take the trouble to go through and find all your old cell phones and all your old electronic equipment that had lithium iron batteries in them and you really have to get rid of them or move them to some concrete enclosure where if they go in 50 years they're not going to burn your house down.
I don't know what the length of time test it is but it seems to me that lithium when exposed to the air or water is an instant ignition source and over some period of time 100% of lithium-ion batteries are eventually going to break down and have that happen so that means that 100% of lithium-ion batteries over some period of time will catch fire. Now think of all the old electronic equipment you have with lithium iron batteries in them stuck in some boxes in a closet or somewhere.
Well that's an interesting policy that gab has and while protecting its customers and its website from israeliadversaries and other people like that which is a legitimate concern it unfortunately also is a very effective excuse to keep a honey pot website going that wants to track who's looking at it for future nefarious purposes. If they insist on seeing your real IP address or having you log in it means they're going to know where you are. And they're going to know who you are. And that may not be the best thing these days when visiting some websites.
