I once tied plastic waterline to a goat and let it walk the line over the hill to a water source. It worked.

You must be white because that's a great f****** idea.

I like the concept. Like tying a fishing line to a drone and stringing up an anti-drone tangle line net. Like a crab trap except strung up between whatever is tall around you to snarl props.

Yep. This waterline does not get kinked. Then later I unloaded a pump there to pump the water to a drill. lol

I suspect our biggest problem may be the zombie hordes of Walmart shoppers when the supply chain that supports them falls apart. You saw them when they ran out of toilet paper

Oh yes, I've seen it a few times in my life. We've had major storms and lost power for about a month and shit fell apart within two weeks. Store shelves empty. People fighting over supplies. I saw a woman with every small can of propane in her buggy and I told her she was a pos. Just take what ya need. Same with that toilet paper fiasco. Weirdest shit I've ever seen. The payoff was seeing these scumbags trying to bring back huge loads of TP to the store to get a refund and the managers said no. They even put up a sign that said "no refunds on TP".

I missed a lot of that here in Montana. But this isn't such a wild place anymore.

You know if you want to get a siphon going over a hill where you've laid some new pipe all you have to do is block both ends of the pipe and then install an opening at the top of the hill and fill the whole pipe with water while the two ends are closed and then close the valve on the opening at the top of the hill that you installed and then open the other two openings and the siphon will flow and you don't have to pump anything.

I wasn't siphoning. I was pumping water up the side of a hill to a work area in a remote place.

I once saw a video about a siphon pump. I can't quite remember how it worked but it was simply a series of pipes. Worked amazingly well

I've used those too but I'm talking about a big ass water pump (runs on gas) on skids that we drag beside water source and put the pump hose in the water then hook up the water line we have ran up the mountain or wherever. It can pump a mass amount of water quickly. We also used a smaller version loading pump to fill water trucks and tanks on the job.

We used to draw water out of creeks on spraying contracts all over the blm lands in the west. I've had Hondas fall down canyons and into rivers. With a ten millemeter and a spark plug wrench you can always get them to run.

Ours was old af but would start almost every time. They might've been Honda or Briggs. I really can't remember. That was a lifetime ago in anudda galaxy far away but not gay.

One day we're all going to need those things but I don't know what the hell it's going to do to the birds.

You eat the birds, silly. In a world where we need such things never turn up your nose at calories and fat. Put a different bell on each line and learn to distinguish them. Then you'll know which line was breached

Works better than a Walmart shopping bag and a leaf blower.

Heavy duty trash bag and a shop vac

This is how I got 2x cat5's across my basement without removing any parts of the ceiling. Except it was a pet rat with paracord.

This is the first time I've seen a ferret used, it's always rats.

[ - ] Crackinjokes 0 points 2 daysMay 26, 2025 15:32:17 ago (+0/-0)

Well the ferret is white so there's a decent chance that it actually is an electrical engineer.

In any case the whole thing is genius and the first time I saw that video I didn't even realize he was pulling a string to lead a wire through the pipe.

Lol awesome.
